In April 2019, Bloomberg estimated Bang Si-hyuk's worth to be around $770 million.

Bang Si-hyuk, former producer and songwriter for K-pop idols, saw his company Big Hit Entertainment become larger than other top labels in Seoul combined. BTS, under his leadership, achieved historic success by becoming the first Korean act to top Billboard's Hot 100 with the single 'Dynamite.'

Following an organizational restructuring, HYBE Corporation announced Bang's resignation as CEO on July 1, 2021, to refocus on music production. He retained his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

In April 2022, Bang was awarded an honorary doctorate in Business from Seoul National University, becoming the first individual in the entertainment industry to receive such recognition. The award was given for his significant contributions to the development and global influence of K-pop.

In October 2022, Bang donated 5 billion won (approximately $3.5 million) to the Community Chest of Korea.

On February 17, 2023, Bang donated 200 million won to help with the 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquake relief efforts through Save the Children.
