The New York Knicks were established as one of the original teams of the BAA, which later became the NBA.

The New York Knicks are a professional basketball team based in New York City. They were established in 1946 and are one of the original NBA teams.

On November 1, 1946, the Knicks made their professional basketball debut against the Toronto Huskies at Maple Leaf Gardens in Canada. This game marked the first game of the Basketball Association of America as a league.
