Gamal Abdel Nasser

Gamal Abdel-Nasser, the first son of Fahima and Hussein Abdel-Nasser, was born on January 15, 1918, in Bakos, Alexandria, Egypt. His father was a postal worker, and his mother took care of their children. He later became a prominent figure in Egyptian politics.

In the summer of 1926, Gamal Abdel Nasser learned about the tragic death of his mother during a visit to Khatatba. The news was not conveyed to him directly, leading to a profound impact on him emotionally.

In 1933, Gamal Abdel Nasser joined El-Nahda Secondary school in Cairo, where he began his political career and eventually became the head of the student union.

Gamal Abdel Nasser graduated from the Military Academy in July 1938 after a short 17-month period due to the urgent need for officers caused by the British forces' mobilization to the Suez Canal area.
