Guerrilla war in British Malaya (1948–1960)

The Malayan Emergency was a guerrilla war fought in British Malaya between communist pro-independence fighters and the military forces of the Federation of Malaya, British Empire and Commonwealth. The conflict began in 1948 and officially ended in 1960, but a second phase of insurgency led by Chin Peng continued until 1989.
