Precious Plastic

The Precious Plastic project is an innovative open-source initiative that aims to tackle the global plastic waste crisis at a grassroots level. Founded by Dutch designer Dave Hakkens in 2012, the project provides free, easy-to-use designs and instructions for building simple plastic recycling machines. This empowers local communities to collect, process, and reuse plastic waste on a small scale, rather than relying on large-scale industrial recycling. By sharing knowledge and best practices globally, Precious Plastic is creating a decentralized network of sustainable, community-driven plastic circularity projects around the world.
