In 1890, Deloitte opened a branch office on Wall Street, marking its first overseas venture with branch managers Edward Adams and P.D. Griffiths.

Touche Ross Luxembourg SàRL was absorbed by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in 1999.

In 2009, Deloitte purchased the North American public service practice of BearingPoint for $350 million.

As of July 31, 2010, members of the Swiss Verein became part of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL), a UK private company limited by guarantee without share capital. This restructuring aimed to maintain separate legal entities for member firms.

In April 2014, Deloitte was ordered to pay $84,750,000 for negligence in auditing Livent's financial statements during 1993–1998, with the amount later reduced to $40,425,000 by the Supreme Court of Canada in 2017.

In September 2016, Apple Inc. announced a partnership with Deloitte to boost sales of its phones and other mobile devices to businesses through the Enterprise Next service.

In October 2016, Deloitte announced the creation of Deloitte North West Europe, combining several member firms to enhance services and create development opportunities. The firm officially started operating on June 1, 2017, with a significant impact on revenue within their Global Network.

Construction and services giant Carillion went into liquidation in January 2018. Deloitte, who had been the internal auditor for Carillion, was criticized in a parliamentary report for its role in the company's financial collapse.

In May 2018, the UK-Based Financial Reporting Council (FRC) initiated disciplinary action against Deloitte, Autonomy's auditor during the sale, for failing to correct false information and lacking objectivity during the audit.

The Financial Reporting Council fined Deloitte for inadequately auditing the accounts of Serco Geografix, a subsidiary of Serco Group, in 2011 and 2012. Deloitte was fined £4.2 million and an additional £300,000 for investigation costs.

Deloitte Consulting was involved in building unemployment insurance web portals in various US states. In May 2020, security weaknesses in these portals led to the exposure of personal information of applicants, resulting in proposed class actions against the company.

Deloitte received a contract from the CDC to build a website for COVID-19 vaccination management, but the website had poor functionality and was not widely adopted by states.

In 2021, Deloitte's Malaysia affiliate agreed to pay $80 million to the Malaysia government to settle claims related to the 1MDB scandal.

On September 29, 2022, Shanghai-based Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Certified Public Accountants LLP (Deloitte-China) agreed to pay $20 million to settle charges related to audit failures in US and Chinese companies. Deloitte-China, also known as Deloitte Hua Yong, self-reported deficiencies in 12 fiscal year 2018 audits.

In 2024, Deloitte Ireland LLP was established, marking a significant milestone in the company's history.
